Deel vs. Rippling: The $500M Payroll Espionage

In the world of global payroll, there’s no room for amateurs－only spies and billion-dollar betrayals.

Here’s the quick and dirty: Rippling and Deel were once partners－Rippling provided the tech, and Deel built its $12B empire on top of it.

The result? Payroll Magic🪄✨

But in 2025, the only thing flying faster than 007’s Aston Martin is corporate espionage claims.

In a lawsuit, Rippling alleges that they began suspecting a mole 🔎 when:

• An employee was searching “Deel” dozens of times a day on internal systems

• Employees were getting poached via Whatsapp

• They were losing deals to Deel left and right

🏆 What is your biggest success in your sales career so far?
“My biggest success has been learning how to create real opportunities. I went from selling shoes at Vans in the mall to closing deals in fintech, and the biggest lesson was that sales is about people. One of my proudest moments was helping a founder secure funding that changed the trajectory of their business. Seeing the impact beyond the sale is what really drives me.”

💻 What is your best advice for someone in Tech Sales?
“Be someone people actually want to buy from. The best sellers make buyers feel understood. Learn your customers’ business inside and out. Be a problem-solver, don't chase quick transactions. Learn to play the long game, relationships compound over time. I'm always focused on humanizing relationships.”

🌙 What is one thing you do After-Hours that sets you apart?
“After-Hours I build. I build my other businesses, I build up my family, I build my body, and I build my mind. I’m working on businesses, content, and community. Sales is a skill, but entrepreneurship and relationships sharpen it. That’s what I believe sets me apart but I'm not competing with others, I'm competing with myself.”
